Kellan Hall set to make college decision at Under Armour All-American Game
Kentucky has taken the nation by storm in year one of the Will Stein era. Kentucky sits atop the SEC by itself with a 5-1 conference record and a 7-1 overall record. Stein and his squad are now ranked No. 9 in America heading into a bye week.
It’s off the field where Kentucky has begun making some serious noise. The recruiting world is something that Stein changed immediately, picking up some elite players within the first few months, but now Kentucky may take it to another level.
No. 1 player in the class of 2028, Kellan Hall, has visited Kentucky numerous times to this point in the season, and all signs have been positive for Kentucky as of late.
That said, we have a commitment date from the standout at Christian Academy of Louisville.
Hall will make his big decision at the Under Armour All-American game on January 3, exactly 10 weeks from today.
Hall has claimed for months now that this is the date he will decide on, but it’s set in stone.
Hall’s father, Draper Hall, spoke about this on WLAP’s Sunday Morning Sports Talk and shut down any talk that it could move at all, and that it’s set and he’ll commit on that date and at that All-American game.
“The Under Armour All-American Game, as most of us know, it’s a very prestigious game. The best of the best play in this game, and he really just felt like it would be a really good platform in front of America, especially for a Kentucky kid. Because when you think about it, former No. 1s in the country in any class, usually they’re coming from Florida and Georgia, all these other states that historically have been known for great ballplayers.”
Hall cleared the air in that interview, speaking on why the date is what it is.
“He just felt like it would be a great look for the state of Kentucky to be able to make that announcement on such a huge platform. So, that’s kind of where it stood out.”
Hall continued, saying, “I think he’ll be able to make a well-informed decision on January 3rd, 4 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, ESPN.”
Stein is on the verge of landing a commitment that would change the program’s perception. Obviously, things can change with recruiting, but as of right now, the Cats are in a good spot.
