Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards will undergo an arthroscopic procedure on his ailing right knee that will sideline him for up to two months, sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Edwards had been listed as questionable on the Wolves’ injury report prior to Monday’s game against Cleveland Cavaliers, but he played a season-high 41 minutes and scored 47 points in a 127-125 overtime loss.

This is the same leg Edwards dealt with runner’s knee last season. He also suffered a hyperextended left knee and bone bruise during last year’s playoffs but avoided any ligament damage.
Edwards began grabbing his right knee during Minnesota’s win in its home opener Sunday against the Toronto Raptors. Wolves coach Chris Finch called it a “daily situation” prior to Monday’s game and said at the time he wasn’t worried about it being a long-term concern.
Edwards was off to the best start of his career, averaging 33.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists on 48% shooting through his first four games.
The 3-1 Timberwolves next play the Golden State Warriors at home Wednesday night.
