Anthony Edwards has a penchant for giving ridiculously funny answers, but his comments about Michael Jackson might have taken the cake.
Edwards is considered one of the funniest players in the NBA, partly because he is quite unfiltered and doesn’t answer questions in a very media-trained manner.
Sometimes this unfiltered nature can land him in trouble, but other times, it can lead to him crafting some of the funniest responses in interviews.
Anthony Edwards claims Michael Jackson before he ‘bleached his skin’ is his dream courtside celebrity
Speaking with Players United as part of a social media initiative with the NBPA, several NBA stars were asked about their dream courtside celebrity guests.
In typical Anthony Edwards fashion, he gave an excellent answer, with a strange twist – Michael Jackson, but with one odd request.
Anthony Edwards: “Michael Jackson before he bleached his skin.”
Edwards has made several comments like this in the past, truly earning his reputation as one of the most unfiltered players in the NBA.
Whether it be his bizarre post-game interviews or his commercials for brands like Adidas, Edwards has taken every opportunity to show off his personality with interesting comments.
Fortunately for Edwards, his comments have never really crossed the line or been inappropriate, at least not since his rookie year.
Edwards briefly got in trouble early in his career for using some foul and derogatory language towards certain communities, but has seemingly learned his lesson since then.
These days, Edwards is considered not just one of the best players in the NBA, but one of the most entertaining figures in all of sports.
It’s his incredible play on the court combined with his natural charisma that makes him one of the most popular athletes in the world.
