The $7 million Breeders’ Cup Classic features a star-studded eight-horse field headlined by defending champion Forever Young, who made history last year as the first Japanese-trained horse to win the race. The international superstar returns as the 2-1 morning-line favorite, looking to become the first back-to-back Classic winner since Tiznow accomplished the feat in 2000 and 2001. Forever Young will face stiff competition from Sovereignty, the reigning Horse of the Year who captured the 2025 Kentucky Derby, Belmont Stakes and Travers Stakes. Trained by Bill Mott, Sovereignty enters as the 5-2 second choice and will look to add another major victory to his impressive résumé.

The field also includes Golden Tempo, winner of the 2026 Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes, along with Magnitude, who defeated Forever Young earlier this year in Dubai. Napoleon Solo, The Puma, Knightsbridge and T O Password round out a competitive group of contenders looking to capture one of the sport’s richest prizes. With established champions and rising stars battling over 1 1/4 miles, the Classic promises to deliver a thrilling conclusion to the two-day Breeders’ Cup World Championships. The race is scheduled for 6:16 p.m. ET on Saturday, with live coverage available on NBC.
