UCLA vs Nevada Prediction: Will the Bruins Keep Their Focus?

October 31, 2026 · by SPW Pipeline

Now it’s for real. UCLA is one of three unbeaten teams remaining, along with Miami and Utah, and it has a favorable enough schedule to get through the last five games 5-2, at least, to get into the College Football Playoff.

But realistically, at this point, the Bruins will likely be the favorites the rest of the way – including at Michigan and against USC – Ohio State is wounded, Indiana needs help to get in, and there’s a real, honest chance that UCLA could be the No. 1 seed in the CFP and …

Let’s do some roll slowing here. The schedule hasn’t been that impressive – wins over Oregon and Wisconsin were nice, though – and there’s a lot of work to do. The finishing kick starts against a Nevada team that hasn’t played anyone in the Power Four, but won’t be a true layup.

UCLA vs Nevada: Quick Hits

  • Nevada jumps back into Mountain West play with New Mexico up next before going to Northern Illinois.
  • UCLA has to go to Minnesota next before hosting Illinois.
  • It’s just the second meeting between the two. The Bruins won 58-20 to start the 2013 season.

Why Nevada Will Win

The Wolf Pack will bring a little bit of defense. The pass rush will keep coming for a full 60 minutes, and the defense is fantastic on third downs. Air Force was able to run wild on this bunch, but that’s Air Force – run early, run often.

UCLA’s offense has been good enough with Ty Dieffenbach under center now that Nico Iamaleava is out for the year, but the running game has become a little bit inconsistent.

Why UCLA Will Win

Yeah, the UCLA running game struggles against Wisconsin and Oregon – that’s Wisconsin and Oregon. The Bruins hammered away 48 times against Michigan State and won without any drama.

What’s the real problem for the UCLA offense? It’s turning the ball over way too much, giving it away nine times in the last four games. There’s no reason to worry.

Nevada forced two fumbles in the opener against Western Kentucky, one interception against Air Force, and … uhhhhhh … that’s it. The Wolf Pack don’t force turnovers.

UCLA vs Nevada Prediction, Betting Lines

UCLA wants to get in, hammer away, and get out so it can get everything packed for the trip to Minnesota. And along the way, it’ll potentially take a stop in the top five of the first College Football Playoff rankings on Tuesday night.
