ESPN predicts Colts v. Jaguars game is Jonathan Taylor’s last with team

November 1, 2026 · by SPW Pipeline

ESPN’s Ben Solak is predicting that the Colts’ Week 8 matchup against the Jaguars will be Jonathan Taylor’s last with the team.

Solak is also predicting that it will be Brian Thomas Jr.’s last game with Jacksonville.

“I’m predicting that both playmakers will take their final snaps with the teams that drafted them Sunday,” Solak wrote. “With another loss, the Colts could probably move Taylor for two Day 2 picks. Meanwhile, another empty stat line for Thomas leads him to … the Chiefs?”

Initial reports this past week suggested that the Colts would prefer to keep Taylor as part of their rebuild. However, on Saturday, Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport reported that Indianapolis is “open to trading” Taylor and that conversations are “active and ongoing.“

Tom Pelissero also added that the Colts have turned down a trade package that included a 2027 second-round pick plus an additional selection, making it clear that they want a “premium” if they’re going to move on from Taylor.

Although Taylor just signed a two-year, $44 million contract extension prior to the season, the contract is movable if needed.

Taylor continues to be one of the most productive backs in football, totaling 587 yards with eight rushing touchdowns.
