Mark Bowman’s highlight-reel hurdle helps USC stun Ohio State

November 1, 2026 · by SPW Pipeline

USC had its night against No. 2 Ohio State on Saturday.

USC jumped on Ohio State early, taking a 14-3 lead in the first quarter before leading 20-9 at halftime. USC’s dominance on both sides of the ball continued in the second half, outscoring Ohio State 10-9 to win 30-18.

Tight end Mark Bowman is a big reason for the win after he sliced and diced through the Buckeyes’ defense in the second half. Facing 1st & 15 from the 27-yard line, Bowman caught a pass over the middle before hurdling a Buckeyes defender.

He refused to go down and turned it into a 70-yard gain, getting the Trojans inside the five-yard line.

With the win, the Trojans are now 7-2 overall, while the Buckeyes are 6-2 overall and still without star quarterback Julian Sayin.

Yes, the Buckeyes were playing without Sayin, but they were still ranked No. 2 in the country. It’s a big win for Trojans head coach Lincoln Riley, who really needed one this season.

The win also keeps the Trojans’ College Football Playoff hopes alive, but they still need to win out to get in.

USC’s next game is against Indiana on Nov. 14, after an off week next week.
