Miami is coming off a hard-fought 38-35 win over the North Carolina Tar Heels on Halloween night. The Canes showed a variety of skills, but the resiliency of the team to fight through adversity and find a way to win was the most impressive thing. Miami is everybody’s Super Bowl, and the Canes will get everyone’s best effort. This was the case again this week, but Miami was up to the challenge.
On the other sideline, Notre Dame is coming off a 35-13 win over Navy on Saturday that followed the Irish’s bye week. Before that bye week, however, the Golden Domers lost their first game of the year, falling 28-24 on the road at BYU.
This week’s game has been the spotlight game of the year across the sport since the schedule was released. Everybody remembers the game — and the fallout — from last year, and that’s been a major driving force for the narratives surrounding this game. Notre Dame also focused their anger at being left out of last year’s College Football Playoffs on Miami…despite losing another game along the way. But that’s something we’ll talk about later.
For now, the opening line has been set. And we’ll see how it measures up through the week, and next Saturday night.
Go Canes
