Chicago Bears Trade Deadline Rumors on Khalil Mack and Tyson Bagent

On the Sunday Night Football pregame show, Mike Florio speculated that the Baltimore Ravens, who lost their two top quarterbacks today, could be in the market for a quarterback ahead of the NFL’s trade deadline, and he mentioned the Chicago Bears’ Tyson Bagent.

Perhaps it’s just logical dot-connecting by Florio, since Baltimore’s offensive coordinator, Declan Doyle, spent 2025 with the Bears, but it would make sense for them to check with Chicago about Bagent’s availability.

The Ravens are 4-4 and still in contention in a competitive AFC North, and with QB1 Lamar Jackson heading to injured reserve with thumb surgery, and QB2 Tyler Huntley dealing with turf toe, they’re left with rookie undrafted free agent Joe Fagnano. In their loss today, Fagnano completed 10 of 21 passes for 91 yards, 1 interception, and a passer rating of 40.0. He was also sacked 3 times, rushed for 3 yards, and lost a fumble.

Sports Illustrated’s Jason La Canfora (yeah, I know, JLC’s track record with Bears scoops has been bad)is reporting that the Ravens have already reached out to the Bears.

The Ravens top pursuit is Bears back-up quarterback Tyson Bagent, according to multiple high-ranking NFL personnel execs. They have reached out to Chicago, but are in a desperate position, DeCosta already got fleeced trading a second-round pick for a concussed and suspect offensive lineman. Multiple league sources told me through the summer that the Bears were rebuffing all overtures for Badgent (who makes $4M this year and $4M next year), who they believe can be a valuable back-up in Ben Johnson’s system.

“Chicago doesn’t have to trade him,” one NFL GM told me. “They like him … Wonder how hard they squeeze DeCosta?”

There were offseason rumors that the Bears received calls on Bagent, but the desperation of two injured quarterbacks and a deadline may be what they need to get an offer they can’t refuse.

The other Bears-related rumor that popped up on Sunday was a familiar one.

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport talked about Chicago’s big trade for Jeffery Simmons this morning on NFL Game Day, then added, “The Bears may not actually be done. I’m told they are still calling around. Still looking on the edges of their defense. Wouldn’t be surprised if a Khalil Mack trade was in the offer here. A possible reunion for Mack and the Bears.”

Mack’s current team, the Los Angeles Chargers, just lost to the Los Angeles Rams, dropping to 0-7, so if they aren’t ready to deal the 35-year-old Mack, they never will be.

Mack played a season-low 35 snaps in the 24 to 9 loss to the Rams, making 2 tackles. In 7 games, all starts, Mack has 21 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, and 3 sacks.

Mack was asked about the trade rumors today, and he said (via FOX Sports’ Eric Williams): “You’ve got to be where your feet are, man, ultimately. That can be the most difficult thing when you’re dealing with a lot of outside noise and stuff. Just trying to be where your feet are at all times. That’s kind of been my thing in years past.”

The Chicago Bears play tomorrow on Monday Night Football against the Seattle Seahawks, and the NFL’s trade deadline is November 10.
