Chargers’ 0-7 start has unbelievable Jim Harbaugh connection

November 3, 2026 · by SPW Pipeline

The Chargers remain the only winless team in the NFL.

Los Angeles entered their Week 7 bye with an opportunity to regroup and make some much-needed adjustments following their winless start. However, when Los Angeles returned to action against the Rams in Week 8, very little appeared to have changed.

On Sunday, it was more of the same for the Chargers, who lost their seventh consecutive game of the season. Their 2026 season continues to be a nightmare, and it has some parallels to their 2000 season.

The 2000 season was the last time the Chargers started 0-7, and Jim Harbaugh was at the center of it.

ESPN Insight shared that Harbaugh was the quarterback of the team that season.

Harbaugh played for the Chargers for two seasons, with 2000 being his last. He played in 21 games for the Chargers with 17 starts. In 2000, he played in seven games and started five.

That season, Harbaugh completed 123 passes for 1,416 yards, 8 touchdowns, 10 interceptions and a passer rating of 74.6.

The 2000 season was Harbaugh’s final season.

The 2026 season could be the Chargers’ worst in franchise history. It’s been a nightmare for the Bolts, as they rank dead last in points per game, 28th in yards per game, 30th in yards per play, and last in touchdowns per game.

The Chargers have gone 27 consecutive drives without touchdown. It is the longest streak in the NFL since the 2024 Dolphins (30 straight). Mike McDaniel was calling the plays for that team.
