LeBron James’ viral moment with a Philadelphia 76ers fan has upset Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy.
LeBron James and the Philadelphia 76ers are unstoppable at the moment as they have extended their winning streak to four games and hold a league-best 7-1 record at the moment.
The 76ers’ most recent win came against the Chicago Bulls as the host utterly dominated the visitors in a 126-107 result.
While it was a terrific result, the thing that has caught the eye of Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy was James’ viral moment with a 76ers fan.
Dave Portnoy calls out LeBron James for sipping wine mid-game
The 41-year-old forward went viral for his courtside interaction with a fan after crashing into him. Instead of directly returning to the court, James took a sip from the fan’s glass of wine.
While most found this hilarious, Portnoy was furious with James and claimed that the 76ers star is setting a bad example for his younger fans.
“If anybody else did this, they’d be checked into AA, but because it’s Bron-Bron, SportCenter will do an hour special on it. Who cares [about] the example it sets for kids that you need to be drunk to play sports?” Portnoy stated on X.
For what it’s worth, NBA fans didn’t like Portnoy’s comments and called him out for unnecessarily hating on the King.
But will that stop Portnoy from taking jabs at James? Most likely not. After all, Portnoy has always been very vocal about his stance against the 4x NBA champion.
