Rangers CHL, USHL prospects report: Spencer Bowes rolling with Ottawa

November 3, 2026 · by SPW Pipeline

All eight New York Rangers prospects in the CHL and USHL were in action last week, and Spencer Bowes continued to excel with Ottawa of the Ontario Hockey League. The 19-year-old forward keeps filling the score sheet on a nightly basis this season, showing signs he just might be a real find from the Rangers 2026 Draft Class.

So, let’s start with Bowes, our top prospect of the past week.

Bowes extended his point streak to eight games by recording seven points in three games last week. He scored his 12th goal of the season Wednesday, when Ottawa defeated the Brampton Steelheads 3-1. It was an unassisted goal, and a beauty.

Bowes had the primary assist on Ottawa’s only goal Friday in a 3-1 loss to the Brantford Bulldogs. He did not score a goal, ending his six-game goal-scoring streak.

Then on Sunday, Bowes busted out with the best game of his junior career. New York’s fourth-round pick scored one goal and had four assists for a monster five-point performance in a thrilling 7-6 overtime win against Oshawa.

Bowes had a secondary assist on the first goal at 7:25 of the first period. Ottawa scored again to lead 2-0 after the period.

Oshawa scored the next four goals in the second period. Ottawa then cut the lead to 4-3 on an even-strength goal at 17:32, with Bowes picking up another secondary assist.

Oshawa took a 5-3 lead at 1:58 of the third period. Bowes answered back with a power-play goal at 7:03 to make it 5-4.

Bowes picked up the puck on the left side, took a couple of steps and fired a wrist shot under the goalie’s shoulder. It was his 13th goal of the season and fourth on the power play.

Oshawa scored again to lead 6-4. Ottawa scored on the power play at 14:25 to make it 6-5.

After another Oshawa penalty, Ottawa took its goalie off the ice to add another attacker. Bowes passed the puck back to Ondrej Ruml, who scored from the point and tied the game at 18:01.

Bowes was on the ice when Ottawa scored the winning goal in overtime. He finished with five points and now leads Ottawa, and all Rangers prospects, with 13 goals and 23 points in 15 games. He’s also tied for third in the OHL in both goal scoring and points.
