The Baltimore Ravens have been riddled with injuries since the start of the 2026 NFL season. More recently, quarterback Lamar Jackson suffered a broken right thumb in Sunday’s matchup against the Buffalo Bills, and in the same game, their backup, Tyler Huntley, was sidelined with an apparent foot injury that later proved to be turf toe. With a depleted QB room, the Ravens are desperate for choices.
Sunday’s 36-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills was a humbling moment for the Ravens as Jackson is set to undergo surgery and is headed to injured reserve with a severe thumb injury that could “potentially” end his season, according to head coach Jesse Minter.
As for Tyler Huntley, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Wednesday that his season would be over with a right turf toe. After testing, it was revealed that Huntley would need surgery as well.
The Ravens seemed to be left with rookie Joe Fagnano, who will likely make his first career start Thursday night against the Jacksonville Jaguars. They also have recent pickups, Austin Reed and Kedon Slovis; Reed was signed to Baltimore’s practice squad Monday, and Slovis was signed off the Green Bay Packers’ practice squad Tuesday.
But with the shocking news that has surfaced, the Ravens season may have one last hope.
“The Arizona Cardinals are finalizing a trade to send QB Jacoby Brissett to the Baltimore Ravens. Deal is expected to be completed this weekend, per Schefter and Rapoport via X.
The trade has yet to be finalized, but it looks to be official, as Rapoport said Brissett “has been saying his goodbyes.”
“This trade will take some time to complete, but Jacoby Brissett is leaving Arizona and has been saying goodbye to teammates and coaches. He’s going to land with the #Ravens, Rapoport posted on X.
With Huntley behind center, the Ravens may be able to find a spark in the veteran QB, as he has worked with the Ravens’ QB coach, Israel Woolfork in Arizona.
