Joaquin Buckley calls out Dustin Poirier over airport arrest
Joaquin Buckley didn’t take Dustin Poirier’s airport incident as lightly as most did.
Poirier was arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport this past June for public intoxication. “The Diamond” subsequently owned up to his actions and even tried to reach out to a police officer to apologize after threatening to fight and directing a racial slur at him.
While most fans made light of the incident, Buckley is now calling out the retired Ultimate Fighting Championship star.
What Joaquin Buckley said about Dustin Poirier’s Atlanta airport incident
Buckley recently went off on the former interim champion for disrespecting female staff during the airport altercation. The UFC welterweight also says Poirier’s demeanor softened as soon as a police officer arrived. “New Mansa” then challenged Poirier to confront him about his latest rant.
“It was a lot of you that came out that day and the frustration that you had,” Buckley said on Instagram. “It didn’t have nothing to do with missing the flight, ‘cause you easily could have booked another… If you’re upset, why the black lady’s got to be h**s or some sh*t… When that other police officer showed up, you sobered up real quick… Any person that got a problem with what I’m saying, and especially you, Dustin Poirier, if you really want to roll up and do something about it, I promise you this, in your words, quote unquote, ‘It’s gonna be bad for you.’ Pull up and do something, ’cause I want you to check me like you checked them h**s that you spoke on.”
Buckley’s rant began with Poirier supporting Josh Hokit. He then questioned Din Thomas for backing Poirier over the airport incident. Currently on a three-fight losing skid, Buckley claims his next bout will be his last.
