Tom Brady is making his return to Foxborough at the weekend to commentate on the New England Patriots’ game against the Green Bay Packers.
With both teams having found their feet following turbulent starts, the game at Gillette Stadium is slated as one of the best matchups of the weekend. To add to the event, Brady will be making his return to his former stomping ground for Fox Sports.
Given just how competitive the NFC North is, and the fact that the Patriots are battling against the Buffalo Bills, there is a feeling that neither team can really afford a slip-up on Sunday. However, the early focus is already centring around Brady’s return to the place that he called home for so long.
How Tom Brady feels about returning to Foxborough to commentate on the Patriots
If there was one person who could sum up the magic of Foxborough, it would be Brady. The former Patriots quarterback knows exactly what it is like to play inside that stadium and he will get the chance to convey that on Sunday through his commentary.
“Yeah, it’ll certainly be emotional. Every inch of that stadium, I’ve been through so many times, from the locker rooms to the meeting rooms and the field. There were just so many memorable plays in that stadium: big games, championship games, rivalry games, and division-clinching games,” Brady told Colin Cowherd.
“So to be back there, to really understand what that Patriots organisation is all about, and to convey that to the fans in a way where I’m not talking about myself, but really talking about this awesome program that’s been built. The Patriots just always seem to do things the right way, like last year in the Super Bowl.”
There is some irony to Brady’s return this weekend, with many feeling as if it could take the shine off Rob Gronkowski’s induction to the Patriots Hall of Fame on Saturday. However, Brady’s attendance to that would be expected anyway given the connection they formed over the years.
In a game where the Patriots really need their fans behind them, having Brady in attendance should only add to the atmosphere created at Foxborough.
