Ryan Coleman-Williams, Zabien Brown injury status revealed before Alabama vs LSU
Alabama football’s first injury report is out ahead of its high-profile matchup against LSU, and the Crimson Tide could be in line to get a few starters back.
Wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams, defensive back Zabien Brown, offensive linemen Racin Delgatty and William Sanders, and defensive lineman Terrance Green are all questionable, along with running backs EJ Crowell and AK Dear.
Quarterback Jett Thomalla is doubtful, while linebackers Cayden Jones and Desmond Umeozulu, defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman and defensive back Nick Sherman are out.
"They’re not all in the exact same spot, but they’re all out there going through workouts," Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer said Monday, Nov. 2. "Some are taking team reps, some are taking non-contact reps, but I think the progress by all of them is heading in a good direction. We’ll see. I think a lot of it has to do with how their bodies respond after they’re out there, being pushed a little more, little bit at the end of last week, yesterday as well, and that will continue to happen throughout the course of the week."
Coleman-Williams (knee) has not played since the Georgia game. Per ESPN, he had arthroscopic knee surgery to repair a meniscus injury. He was seen practicing on film released by Alabama ahead of LSU.
Brown (lower extremity) missed Alabama’s win against Texas A&M.
Delgatty (lower extremity) has not played since the Georgia game. DeBoer told The Tuscaloosa News that he’s "hopeful" for Delgatty’s return. Delgatty was seen practicing on film released by Alabama ahead of LSU.
Sanders (high ankle sprain) is expected to be "a few weeks out" from a return.
Alabama linebacker Yhonzae Pierre said Green is "coming back" against LSU after missing the past two games.
DeBoer told The Tuscaloosa News that he is "hopeful" Crowell (lower body) can "get on the football field and practice," which would "lead to where he can help us out."
Umeozulu (turf toe) will still be "out for a while yet," DeBoer said, who is hopeful for a return at the "very back end of the regular season."
Jones and Beaman (ACL) are out for the season.
Alabama will take on LSU at 2:30 p.m. CT Saturday, Nov. 7 at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Alabama vs. LSU will be broadcast on ABC.
