Manchester United enquire about Didier Deschamps, newspaper reports

The Red Devils’ board has reportedly made contact with the former France manager amid mounting pressure on current boss Michael Carrick.

With Michael Carrick’s future at Old Trafford increasingly uncertain, Manchester United are already exploring options for a potential managerial change.

According to English newspaper “The Sun”, the club approached Didier Deschamps to explore the possibility of him taking charge.

Available since ending his long, 14-year spell in charge of France earlier this year, Deschamps boasts an impressive international record.

During his time with the national team, he won the 2018 World Cup in Russia and led France to the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar.

At club level, the manager also enjoyed notable spells before taking charge of the national team.

Deschamps managed established clubs including Juventus, Monaco and Olympique de Marseille.

His standout achievements at club level include winning the French league title with Marseille and guiding Monaco on their historic run to the UEFA Champions League final in 2004.
